I took advantage of the Joann's 3-day sale and got a Yudu (the home silk screen setup) for half price!!!! Even my mom bought one! I can't wait to get started on a lot more projects, and maybe I'll even have some projects and classes with it.
In the meantime, I'm teaching SDU at the Michael's in Southlake on Wednesday, December 1 from 10-12 and 1-3, and on Wednesday, December 8 at the same times. Because of the holidays and how busy everyone is, I'm squeezing four weeks into two weeks
And sign up at the Little Blue House for December 6 and learn the Top Ten Tips for getting the most out of your Cricut.
Leave me a comment about what classes you would like to see in the new year.
Happy Thanksgiving weekend!

Quick Classes
I'm finally back to being creative! Although I had a lot of fun working on the committee for the SNAP Gala, I am glad it's over. And most of the overnight traveling for the Flint Falcons Basketball Team is over, so' I'm back to classes.
Glass Etching
First, on Monday, the 22nd, (Yes - that's tomorrow), I'll be doing glass etching using the Cricut to cut the stencils out of vinyl. So Simple, so quick and easy! This isn't a formal class; it's more of an open workshop. I'll be at the Crafty Hen House from 10 - 12 Monday morning and 6:30 - 8:30 Monday night for anyone who wants to drop in and play. $20 if you bring your own glass piece to be etched, or $25 if I provide the piece. Although it's not required, I would appreciate knowing if you're planning to come.
Intro to Cricut
Tuesday, the 23rd, I'll do an overview of the Cricut and all the amazing projects you can do! Not sure about getting one for Christmas or braving the Black Friday Sales? Come try it out and see just how easy it is. It's just $10, and I'll even give you a coupon for $10 off one of my Cricut Classes. Times: 10-11 am, 2-3 pm, or 7-8 pm.
Top Ten Tips When Using Your Cricut
Monday, December 6 at the Little Blue House I'll give you my Top Ten Tips to help you finish your Holiday projects. Call the Little Blue House at 817-431-7930 or check out their blog at the link above.

First Cricuteer Class
Last night was so much fun! The first Cricuteer class at the Little Blue House used vinyl, transfer tape, and glass etching cream to make Halloween treat jars. Everyone there was so creative and talented! I enjoyed seeing their designs and listening to the sharing of ideas, but the best part was watching them learn something new. You can almost see the exact moment the technique clicks for them! Their whole attitude changes, they become more confident and more willing to take a risk - it's just the coolest thing to watch!
Now for the worst part - I didn't take pictures! UGH!! So, if anyone who was there last night reads this and would like to send me a picture of your creation, I would be every so grateful!
On another note, I have openings in my Cricut 101 class tonight at 6:30 at the Crafty Hen House in Bedford!

October Classes
Teaching these classes has been so much fun - I have met a lot of new friends. Not to mention what a small world it is when we find out we have so many friends in common!
I just updated the schedule for the October classes, and I think I may add a Gypsy 2 class. I'll have a better idea after tomorrow night's first class. :) And I'm very excited about my first Cricuteer Class on October 4 at the Little Blue House in Keller! We'll be etching glass to make a Halloween treat jar - as spooky as you want it - using the Cricut to create our stencil.
And later in October I get to be a student at a Zentangle class. I looked up Zentangle after watching the Taco Tuesday video from Ten Seconds Studio where Megan and Cheryl were doodling on the metal. I was as intrigued by the name as the technique! I have been doing my own version every since then, and if I've seen you, I probably showed it to you. It is too much fun! And then I find out that my creative friend Angie is a certified Zentangle teacher! So she's holding a class at the Crafty Hen House and I am already signed up.
And last but not least, a shout out to the Texas Rangers - AL West Division Champs. Woo Hoo!

New to Blogging
When I was little, I watched Cinderella live on television with Lesley Ann Warren as Cinderella. One of the songs she sang has been in my head for 40-something years now, so I decided to quit fighting it and just go with it.
Cinderella sang:
In my own little corner
In my own little chair
I can be whatever I want to be.
So this is my corner where I am no longer wife, mother, daughter, friend, or relative, and there is no laundry, dishes, sweeping or dusting here. The problem is that I'm not completely sure what I want to be when I'm in my own little corner of the world.
For now, I am teaching Cricut and scrapbooking classes and I LOVE it! I don't want to be a school teacher - way too much responsibility for molding those young minds. I don't want to be the one creating all the projects (I'm not that good at it anyway), so teaching is the perfect fit. I teach basic classes at the Crafty Hen House in Bedford, and I'm going to The Little Blue House in Keller in October with a spooky Cricut project. Check the Classes Page for the schedule!
